Jennifer Lopez Leaving “American Idol” To Judge Latin Talent Show

What does the future hold for American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez? The Bronx-born superstar, recently voted PEOPLE Magazine’s Most Beautiful Person, has inked a new deal with Idol creator and executive producer Simon Fuller and his company, XIX Entertainment, to launch yet another musical talent competition -– this one targeting folks South of the Border.

The proposed series, tentatively titled Que Viva, will feature Lopez and her husband, salsa singer Marc Anthony, searching for undiscovered talent in Latin America, The Hollywood Reporter said Thursday. Lopez joined Idol as a celebrity judge, alongside Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler, this season, but it’s unclear what the news means for her future with the show. Her contract covers just one season and it’s unclear whether or not “Jenny from the Block” will return for the show’s 11th season after next month’s finale.

“I don’t know if I will do another season. I’m taking it day by day at the moment, and we’ll see what happens.”
