Halle back on normal terms with ex

Halle Berry, who was involved in a bitter custody battle with her ex-boyfriend, seems to be back on normal terms with Gabriel Aubry.The former couple have decided to put their differences behind for the sake of their three-year-old daughter Nahla, reported Extra online. “When there’s a child involved, it’s a relief when you can resolve things in a good way,” the 44-year-old actress said.Berry, who is now dating French actor Olivier Martinez, said the court proceedings have gone well. “Our issues were never about fighting for her. We both know a child needs both her parents. But what I want to say about it is sometimes, as a couple, you reach an impasse. We needed a court and a judge to help us work out some of the delicate issues, and I’m so happy we’ve arrived at that place — because for her sake, this is the best way. We both love her more than life,” the actress added.The couple split last April and then Aubry, a French-Canadian model, filed court papers on December 30 seeking formal recognition as Nahla’s father and joint legal and physical custody.In January, Berry’s rep issued a statement saying, “Halle has serious concerns for her daughter’s well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time.”A representative for Aubrey, 34, soon responded. “The fact is that Gabriel is a caring father who shares custody of Nahla,” the statement read.
